John Douglas Hoehn, 80, passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Stearns Nursing and Rehab in Granite City.
Born November 17, 1937 in Alton, John was a son of the late Arthur Hoehn and Irene (Ferrell) Hoehn Harris.
John and the former Helen (Moyer) Dorward were married in February of 1983. She passed away.
John was a Veteran serving in the US Air Force. He worked as a Superintendent of Disbursements for Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville for 20 years retiring in 2002.
Survivors include two daughters, Kristin Fulkerson and Tina Murray; two sons, Warren Hoehn and Robert Paul Hoehn; three step-daughters, Carol Fleshman, Kelly Roberts and Kathy Yanase; four step-sons, Tom Dorward, Donald Dorward, David Dorward and James Dorward; 21 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; three brothers, Danny Hoehn, Mike Hoehn and Steve Hoehn.
Besides his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Horn; two sisters, Jan Rene' Ginosky and an infant sister; two brothers, Gene Hoehn and Dennis Hoehn.
A celebration of John's life will begin at 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday September 25, 2018 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.
Burial will be private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
