Amil Goskie SOUTH ROXANA Amil Dean Goskie, 78, died at 7:05 a.m. Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at his residence. Born April 17, 1934, in Alexander County, Illinois, he was son of Ralph A and Orpha R. (Petitt) Goskie. He married Maxine Martin Dec. 14, 1954, in Pontiac, Ill. She died Aug. 20, 1997. He retired from the U.S. Navy, then Multi Maintenance at Scott Air Force Base. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Dorotha and Bruce Pryor of Jerseyville; daughter-in-law, Theresa Goskie of Roxana; five grandchildren: Kendra (James) Davis, Jason (Amber) Pryor, Tammy Goskie, Katherine Goskie and Steven Goskie; great-grandchildren: Ethan Davis, Emily Davis, Erica Davis, Ellie Rose Davis and Gabriel Pryor; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Rose Ann and Harold Gaither of Florida and Edna and Edward Hurt of Arkansas; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Elmer 'Tug' Goskie of Olive Branch, Ralph and Gloria Goskie of Park Forest and Bill Goskie of Pontiac. He was preceded in death by son Jerry Dean Goskie; three sisters, Leila Nievelt, Katie Chester, Geneva Story; two brothers, Albert and Norman Goskie. He was a Navy veteran. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 18. The Rev. Terry McKenzie will officiate. Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery. Memorials may be to charity of one's choice.
