Anton Michael Hertz, Jr., of South Roxana, 80, passed away at 9:23 a.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.

Anton was born on August 13, 1941 in Missoula, Montana.  He was a son of the late Anton Michael and Francis (Hilfer) Hertz, Sr.

Anton and the former Ruth Ann Bull of South Roxana were married on August 24, 1973 in Alton.

Before retiring in 2001, Anton had worked for many years as a Welder at National Marine, Grafton Boat Works and Geil RV.

Besides his wife Ruth, he is survived by five daughters, Letha of Kansas City, MO, Laura, Patricia, Toni, Gaila Hertz of South Roxana; two sons, Robert Hertz, Leroy Hertz of South Roxana; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three sisters, Etta, Marline, Lucille; two brothers, Raymond, Ronnie.

Along with his parents, Anton was preceded in death by nine siblings.

The family has chosen to have private services.
