BETHALTO — Carl Wayne Osburn, 71, died at 4:55 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2014, at B.J.C. Hospital in St. Louis.
Born on July 4, 1942, in Alton, he was a son of Elmer and Gladys (Figgins) Osburn, now deceased.
He married Rosemary Kay Ross March 4, 1972, in East Alton, and she survives.
Carl was a shipping clerk at Winco of St. Louis. He was a veteran, serving in the Air Force.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Kathy Jo and Gerald Weiler of Edwardsville and Deanna Kay and John Nolden of Mascoutah; two sons, Christopher L. Osburn of Overland, Mo., and Dale F. Osburn of Orange County, California; one grandchild, Emily Osburn; four stepgrandchildren: Erik Weiler, Morgan Weiler, Jacob Nolden and Nicolas Nolden; one brother, Gary L. and Maybelle Osburn of Toledo, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Connie Lee Pelger and Shelia Pruitt.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River where services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, with Rev. Steve Gray officiating.
Burial will take place at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given the American Diebetes Association or BJC Hospice.
