Catherine Josephine Hayn, 90, passed away at 2:27 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Granite Nursing and Rehab Center in Granite City.

Catherine was born August 8, 1925 in Kampsville, she was one of six children born to Valentine P. and Elizabeth (Becker) Hayn.

She had been an assembly line worker for the Tiny Tot Laundry Factory, retiring after many years.

Catherine never married but was blessed with two special nieces and their husbands, Gertie and Mike Modrusic of Granite City, Betty and Charlie Thomas of Bunker Hill. They loved and looked after her for many years. Not only Catherine, but her sister Theresa also.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Julia Hayn and Theresa Hayn; 3 brothers, Frank, Ferd and Thomas Hayn.

A graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at St. Anselm's Catholic Cemetery in Kampsville.

Catherine will complete the last grave in the family plot and will be sadly missed.
