Celeste York, 70, of Glen Carbon, passed away at 7:14 a.m., Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Edwardsville Care Center in Edwardsville.

Born May 5, 1951 in Wood River, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Weston and Elizabeth Faye (Smith) York.

Celeste worked in the cafeteria at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton for many years before retiring in 1997.

Survivors include four sisters, Victoria & Rebecca Ellis York of Glen Carbon, Amy York of Sulpher, LA, Lisa Craig of Edwardsville, Maria and Robert Wilson of Edwardsville; three brothers, David York of South Roxana, Matthew and Cindy York of Edwardsville, Eric and Michelle York of Alton; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Celeste was preceded in death by one sister, Milinda Duncan; one brother, Vernon York.

Services will be private.
