Charles Dean Voyles, 81, passed away at 12:55 a.m. Sunday, August 26, 2018 at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born October 26, 1936 in Sorento to the late William Cecil and Pauline (Dietrich) Voyles.
Charles married the former Nora J. Bentley. Sadly she passed away on January 9, 2010.
Charlie, as so many of his family and friends call him, worked many years on his farm raising crops, sheep, hogs, chickens and his wonderful family. He had also driven a School Bus and worked 18 years for Carlisle Syn Tec Systems in Greenville, retiring March 31, 1999.
Charlie's favorite comedian was Jerry Clower and Charlie could tell the stories as well as Jerry could tell them.
Survivors include three daughters, Jane Worstel of Sorento, Rose and Hiram Renfro of Donnellson, Cathleen Voyles of Panama; three sons, Carl Voyles of Collinsville, Michael Voyles of Panama, Timothy & Aimee Voyles of Tooele, Utah; 15 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 15 step-great-grandchildren and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Sue Ellen and Vern Meyer of Springfield; two brothers, William James "Jim" and Marge Voyles of Ava, MO, David E. Voyles of Sorento; one Brother-in-law, Charles Martin of Springfield.
Charlie was a member of the Methodist Church of Panama and the Pork Producers.
Besides his wife Nora and parents, Charlie was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Ann Martin and a son-in-law Art Worstel.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Redeemer Baptist Church in Panama with services following a 1:00 p.m..
Pastor Jerad Files and Rev. Stephen Gray will officiate.
Burial will be private.
