Charles Thomas "Tom" Whorl Sr., 82, passed away at 1:45 a.m., Thursday, September 27, 2018 with his loved ones by his side at Integrity Rehab Facility in Wood River IL
Born June 11, 1936 in Alton, Tom was a son of the late Amos and Jessie (Warren) Whorl.
Tom married the former Annabelle Walace, she was the love of his life. Sadly, she passed away March 21, 2011.
He worked as a Truck Service Operator for Consolidated Freightway in St. Louis, Mo., retiring after many years.
Tom is survived by his children, Lori Keller of East Alton, Don and Lisa Smith of Roxana, Tom and Kelly Whorl of Edwardsville, Wesley and Jennifer Whorl of Wood River, David Whorl of Alton; 13 grandchildren;10 great grandchildren; four sisters, Joyce Goodman, Ola Lovell, Judy Gill, Marcella Standefer.
Besides his wife and parents, Tom was preceded in death by his son James Whorl; a grandson, James Whorl; one brother, Jerry Whorl; two sisters, Ann Siler and Linda Levy
Tom was an avid Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packer fan along with his love of old Western movies.
Visitation and celebration of life will begin at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.
A private burial will be at the Bethalto United Methodist Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to that of one's choice.
