Cheryl J. Philippe, 74, passed away at 11:51 p.m., Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital.

Cheryl was born September 30, 1944 in Hartford. She was a daughter of the late John and Ruth (Armstrong) Hargis.

She married Leon Philippe of Cottage Hills on November 14, 1968 in Hartford.

Cheryl worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Granite City for several years. She then became disabled.

Survivors include two sons, Paul and Jennifer Philippe of Edwardsville, Jason Philippe of Cottage Hills; two grandchildren, Wyatt Philippe and Ryan Philippe both of Edwardsville; four sisters, Gale Delamano and Robert of Bethalto, Connie Rushton and Gilbert of Shipman, Denise Fraizier and Doug of Wood River, Andrea Clagg and John of Troy.

Cheryl was preceded in death by three sisters, Joyce Gagliard, Judy Twenty and Debbie Hargis.

A celebration of Cheryl's life will begin at 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 15, 2018. Services will follow at 12:00 noon, with Pastor John Shank officiating.

Burial will be private.
