Obituary

A Memorial Celebration for Dave has now been scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. service time on February 6, 2022, Sunday at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Alton.

David "Dave" Frank Dierker, of Alton, 81, went to be with the Lord at 8:38 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2021 at Alton Memorial Hospital with his wife by his side.

Dave was born on October 4, 1940 in St. Louis, MO. to the late August E. and Jane J. Dierker. He was fond of telling everyone how thoughtful his mother was because the month times the day equaled the year.

He and the former Carolyn L. Hudson of Alton were married on June 26, 1982 in Alton.

Dave was a computer programmer for many companies during his 50 years of working.  He retired in 2005.

He proudly served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany.

He was a faithful member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Alton where he served in many positions, mainly as an Elder.  He was also a member of the Boy Scouts, serving as a troop leader liaison and trail guide, teaching horsemanship, leading trail rides and especially hay rides.  He loved spending time with his wife and their dog Little Bit (who was a rescue dog and not so little).

In addition to his wife, Dave is survived by a daughter, Allys of New Orleans; two sisters-in-law, Brenda and Gerald Bland of Alton, Cathy and Ron Lawless of Godfrey; one brother-in-law Charles and Brenda Hutson of Meadow Brook; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends and special friend Bob Berrey and his three daughters.

In additions to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by a son Dennis Dierker; a brother and sister-in-law Frederick and Sherrie Dierker; father-in-law, Charles Hudson; mother-in-law, Dorothy Hudson; brother-in-law, Ricky Hudson.

Per his request, he was cremated.

A memorial celebration of Dave's life will begin at 3:00 p.m. until service time at 4:30 at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Alton.  Pastor Randy Fischer will officiate.

Memorials may be given to Messiah Lutheran Church in Alton.
