Doyle Lee Stegall, 82, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at his residence in Lebanon, TN.
After their health declined, Doyle and Faye moved to Lebanon into an assisted living facility to be near their daughter Kim. Fortunately, Kim and Jeff were allowed to be with Faye when Doyle passed.
Doyle was born September 13, 1937 in Pontotoc, Mississippi. He was a son of the late Bethel Dalton and Vivian Elizabeth (Saxon) Stegall.
Doyle and the former Zona Faye Hannis, celebrated 61 years of marriage this year. They were married on April 18, 1959 at Bethel Free Will Baptist Church in South Roxana.
Doyle loved to work on cars and he was very knowledgeable on how to fix them. He was very willing to work on your car and even show you how to fix it yourself. Just one of his many talents
He worked as a Dock Manager for the Springmeier Shipping Company in St. Louis, MO, retiring December 31, 1999.
Along with his wife Faye, he is survived by a daughter and her husband, Kimberly & Steven Colbert of Lebanon, TN; a son and his wife, Jeffrey and Kimberly Stegall of Greenville, S.C.; two grandchildren, Margaret Ann Stegall and Hamilton Cole Stegall both of Greenville, S.C.; one brother and his wife, Horace & Marilyn Stegall of Granite City; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Stegall of Edwardsville, Gladys Hannis of Wanda, Janice Gray of Wood River. Very close friend's Doug and Connie Guss who's children and grandchildren called Doyle and Faye grandpa and grandma; Many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Doyle was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Malson and a brother, Dale Stegall; sister-in-law Jean Montgomery; four brothers-in-law, Jr. Montgomery, Royall and Rodney Hannis, Glen Gray.
Due to the restrictions because of the Covid-19, the family will have private services on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River with Doyle's nephew, Rev. Stephen Gray officiating.
Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Doyle will be missed by his family and friends.
