EDITH EBBERT COOPER
GODFREY - Edith Ebbert Cooper, 75, died at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at her residence.
Born Nov. 14, 1938, in Bloomsburg, Penn. She was the daughter of the late John E. and Lenita (Parker) Ebbert.
She married Walter G. Cooper on June 10, 1961 in Wood River and he survives.
Edith retired as Pension Administrator for Jefferson-Stone in St. Louis and then was Co-Owner with her husband of Cooper & Cooper Insurance Agency in Alton.
She was a member of Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey and a previous member of Alton Little Theater. Edith enjoyed singing and when Walter was organist at different churchs she would sing with their choirs.
Survivors also include two sons, G. Michael Cooper of Arlington Heights Chicago and Bradley Cooper of South St. Louis County; and brother, John E. and Mavis Ebbert of Shoal Creek, Ala.
Preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Fran and Edward "Dunk" Albertson.
The celebration of Edith's life will begin at 4:00 p.m to7:00 p.m. Monday, Nov 17, 2014, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Nov. 18. Pastor Jerry MeCaskey will officiate.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Godfrey.
