Godfrey,

Eric L. Pleasant, 54, passed away at 12:02 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Born July 8, 1962 in Wood River, he was a son of James N. Pleasant of Wood River and the late Sandra Jean (Olsen) Pleasant.

Eric was a truck driver for many years.

Along with his father, Eric is survived by two daughters, Alicia Mae Pleasant of Cottage Hills, Stephanie Nicole Luschen of Pennsville, NJ; two sons, Eric Lee Pleasant, Jr. and James Richard Pleasant both of South Roxana; one grandson, Adrian Pleasant; one sister, Pamela Myers of Godfrey; two brothers, James N. Pleasant, Jr. of Godfrey, William A. Pleasant of Casanova; several nieces and nephews.

Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Charles Thomas Pleasant and a sister, Angela Fay Beason.

He will be sadly missed by family and friends.

The American Leukemia Foundation has been designated as a memorial.

A committal service will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 6, 2016, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
