Fred Lynn Thompson, 62, passed away at 1:54 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born February 11, 1953 in Sikeston, MO, he was a son of the late Lindell W. Thompson, Sr. and Thadeena "Deena" (Bryant) Thompson of Bethalto.
Fred worked as a Truck Driver for the Hansen Trucking Co in Jerseyville retiring after many years.
Besides his mother he is survived by a brother and his wife, Lindell "Chip" W. and Helen Thompson, Jr. of Brighton.Fred worked as a Truck Driver for the Hansen Trucking Co in Jerseyville retiring after many years.
Surviving with his mother is a brother and his wife, Lindell "Chip" W. and Helen Thompson, Jr. of Brighton; a sister-in-law, Barbara Thompson of Pana; Niece's and Nephew's, Dawn Reed, Melissa Ewing, Gary Thompson, Jr., Jodi Lenover, Joseph Thompson, Laura Martin; 8 great nieces and nephews; one great-great-nephew.
Besides his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Martin Thompson.
A celebration of Fred's life will be at 12:00 noon, until service time at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 29, 2015, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Randy Vollmar officiating.
Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be given to 1st Family Church in East Alton where Fred attended.
