Obituary

Gerald "Jerry" E. Cobb, 65, passed away at 9:23 a.m. Monday, April 20, 2020 at his sister Sheri's home in Hartford.

Jerry was born on December 16, 1954 in Chaffee, Missouri. He was a son of the late Gilbert E. and Emma Lou (Perdue) Cobb.

Jerry and his life partner Guy Gaskins of Wood River, had 39 wonderful years together.

He worked as a Folder Operator for the Buxton & Skinner Printing Company for 20 years and was co-owner of Our Feathered Friend's in Wood River & Edwardsville, he had also worked for Kmart in Granite City.

Also surviving are four sisters, Sheri Nizinski and her fiance Phil Bock of Hartford, Margaret Stroup & Bill of Dexter, Missouri, Lorine Gernon of Wood River, Anna Pratt of Mountain Home, Arkansas; three brothers, James Cobb and Sherry of Sunseild, Michigan, Daniel Cobb of Wood River, Bill Cobb of Missouri; mother-in-law Helen Gaskins of Belleville; sister-in-law, Laurie Cobb of Delton, Michigan; brother-in-law Donald Nizinski; two Dogs, Lydia and Sheldon;  nieces and nephews, Nick Nizinski, Michael Nizinski, Heather Robbins, BJ Cobb, Amanda Witt, Huston Sexton, Sammy Cobb, Erin Colove, Emily Quinn, Regina Ellis, Tina Pratt, Leah Watson, Allen Barlow, Bob Barlow, Gary Stroup, Kimberly Smith, April Bernstein, Susan Maddox; numerous great nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two Brothers, James David Cobb and Joseph Earl Cobb.

We know that Jerry deserves a beautiful tribute of his life. However we feel that during this unknown time with the Covid-19 pandemic, that a private service would best serve our family and friends.  Visitation and services will be private at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River. Rev. Art Hooper will officiate.
