Roxana -
Helen Shaw, 59, passed away at 1:57 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2014, at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
Born July 24, 1954 in Denver, Colo., she was a daughter of the late Ralph E. Butler and Lorene (Crite) Butler of Bethalto.
She married Clarence Shaw November 29, 1980 in Alton.  He passed away October 23, 2000.
Through out the years, Helen worked in many positions in the health care field, she was a CNA and worked for Wood River TWP Hospital and Visiting Nurses Association.
Helen was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wood River.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Joshua & Sandra Shaw of Roxana; five grandchildren, Abby, Alexis, Peyton, Cameron, Anna; one sister & brother-in-law, Debbie and Bob Ruckman of Bethalto; 2 brothers & sisters-in-law, Mike & Beth Butler of St. Charles, MO, William and Anne Butler of Alton.
Besides her husband and father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Shawna D. Shaw.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, March 14, 2014, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River where services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Robert Kirbach officiating.
Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Wood River or BJC Hospice.
