Wood River,

Kenneth O. Outhouse, 87, passed away at 7:45 a.m., Sunday, April 16, 2017 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Alton, with his family by his side.

Born July 12, 1929 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, he was a son of the late Oliver A. and Dorothy Outhouse.

Kenneth married the former Mary Lou Hendricks and she survives.

He was an Army Veteran and worked as an operator for the Olin Brass Corporation for 42 years, retiring in 1993.

Besides his wife Mary Lou, Kenneth is survived by three daughters, Kathryn and Raymond Oehlert of Ferguson, MO, Connie and Michael Burns of Wood River, Kelly Baysden and Danny Whitworth of Alhambra; three sons, Bryan Outhouse of Joliet, Kenny Outhouse of Bethalto, Kevin Outhouse of Wood River; twelve grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dora Mae and Richard of Iowa; one brother, Richard Fish of St. Louis, MO; Kenneth's favorite dog Bruno.

Along with his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by two sons, Baby Bill and Dennis Outhouse; a Grandson Jessie Outhouse and a sister, Lois Myers.

A celebration of Kenneth's life will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.

Services will follow at 6:00 p.m. with his son Bryan Outhouse officiating.

Alton VFW Post 1308 will perform military rites.

Burial will be private at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
