Marcella L. Standefer, 77, passed away at 2:11 a.m., Friday at her residence, with her family by her side.

Born September 22, 1943 in Alton, she was a daughter of the late Amos and Jessie (Warren) Whorl.

Marcella and Gerald Standefer were married on May 4, 1966 in Alton.  Sadly he had passed away.

Marcella was a Certified Nursing Assistant for 50 years at Eldercare Nursing Home (now Integrity Health Care) in Alton, retiring in September, 2007.

Survivors include two daughters, Kimberly Sandberg of Alton, Melissa Standefer of Alton; one son Ricky & Debbie Standefer of Kerrington, OH; five grandchildren, David Alexander Bowman, Eric Wilken and Heaven, Kevin William Wilken, Taylor Adam Sandberg, Haliegh Standefer; two great-grandchildren, Damion Wilken, Kayleigh Wilken; one sister, Ola Lovell of Alton; several nieces and nephews

Along with her parent's and husband, Marcella was preceded in death by six siblings, Joyce Goodman, Jerry Whorl, Tom Whorl, Ann Siler, Judy Gill, Linda Levy.

The family has chosen to have private services due to the Covid 19 Virus.

Memorials may be given to that of one's choice.
