Mildred Lucille Hartsock, 92, passed away 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2018 at Bethalto Care Center, with family by her side.
Lucille, as she liked to be called, was born October 17, 1926 in Westville, Indiana. She was a daughter of the late Melvin T and Lennie (Wampler) Parks.
Lucille and Delbert M. Cherry were married on August 3, 1942 in St. Charles, MO. He passed away May 5, 1966. She then married Paul L. Myers on August 25, 1985. He also passed away. She married Dale L. Hartsock on January 21, 1994. He too passed away.
Delbert and Lucille were owners of Del Cherry Boat & Motor on Broadway in Alton for several years, she also worked in the insurance department at Owens Illinois Glass, retiring after 17 in 1983.
Lucille was a member of the VFW Post 1308 Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Elaine Lee of Sorrento, Sandra L Ervin and John of Bethalto; two grandchildren, Jodie Elliott and Joshua of Alton, Julie Loewen and Brad of Bethalto; six great-grandchildren, Aiden and Harper Elliott, Konnar, Keaton, Kennedy and Kerrigan Loewen.
Besides her parents and husbands, Lucille was preceded in death by an infant son, Ronald Delbert Cherry; grandson, David Wayne Lynch; three sisters, Elizabeth Brown, Mary Knoll, Ilene Tyner; six brothers, Albert, Lee, Melvin Jr., Fred, Don and Wayne Parks
A celebration of Lucille's life will begin at 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River where services will follow at 1:00. Pastor Randy Valmer will officiate.
Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to First Family Church in East Alton.
