Patrick "Pat" Brian Miller, age 76, of Edwardsville, passed away at 11:50 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2024, at University Care Center in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Pat was born February 5, 1947, in Sheridan, Wyoming. He was a son of the late Russell and Grayce (Esponda) Miller.

Pat was a cowboy at heart and loved anything and everything southwestern.  He was a huge fan of country music, the outdoors and Mexican and Tex Mex food.  He was a devout Catholic and was a longstanding member of the Knights of Columbus.  Pat had an uncanny ability to brighten up any room he was in.  He was known for his great sense of humor and was a genuinely kind man who never knew a stranger.

A Veteran of the US Army, he served as a Staff Sergeant in accounting, before becoming disabled and receiving a medical discharge on December 9, 1982.

Pat and Kay A. (Lockwood) were married on Oct 6, 1984, in San Antonio, TX, where they resided until 2019.

Along with his wife, Pat is survived by two daughters, Amanda Miller of University Place, Washington, Erin Santana (Miller) of Tacoma, Washington; two step-daughters, Carolee D. (Shirley) and Dean Wright of Lebanon, Illinois, Merilee B. (Shirley) Patak of Ohio; one step-daughter-in-law, Pam Shirley of Horsehead, NY;  one step-son, Richard Shirley and Robin of Binghamton, NY; as well as several grandchildren, and great grandchildren; one sister, Kathleen A. Miller of Wyoming.

Besides his parents, Pat is preceded in death by one brother, Michael J. Miller and one stepson, Kenneth Shirley.

A celebration of Life will be held later for his family.
