Prudence "Prue" Anne Cleghorn, passed away at 10:50 a.m., Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Her family was by her side.

Prue was born on June 11, 1939 in Andover, IL.  She was a daughter of the late Albert Gabrial and Jean Frew (Bergren) Johnson.

She and Clovis Marshall Cleghorn were married on May 6, 1967 in San Antonia, TX.  They both serviced in the U.S.Air Force together.  Cleg as he was known to his family and friends passed away on February 23, 2010.  Prue had been his care giver for several years after he suffered from a massive stroke.  Even though he was disabled, she would bring him to church in his electric chair.

Prue retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1981 after 20 years of service. She had worked as a Clinical Nurse and Nurse Administrator. After retiring from the military, she worked at Anderson Hospital in Maryville for several years as a Nurse and Educator.

She was a member of the Discovery Family Church in Collinsville where she was known as Ms Prue and would greet and check in the children for children's church.

Survivors include one sister, Sara Elizabeth Blackburn of Canal Winchester, OH, nephews Tad and Jill Blackburn of Rossford, OH, Rick and Gail Blackburn of Reynoldsburg, OH; Great Niece and nephews, Alli Blackburn of Hilliard, OH, Rylee Blackburn of Reynoldsburg, OH, Stefan Albrecht of Sylvania, OH.

Prue was also preceded in death by her brother, Darryl Johnson.

Services will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at Discovery Family Church in Collinsville.  Pastor Steve Gray will officiate.

Burial will be Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Prue was a very special and loved lady.  She will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
