Wood River,

Ronda Dianne Breitweiser Howard, 67, passed away at 2:57 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.

Dianne (as she liked to be called), was born July 6, 1950 in Christopher. She was a daughter of Edward Paul and Lois LaVerne (Nelms) Odle.

She married Jerry Lee Howard of Wood River, on May 11, 2004 in Negril Jamaca.

Dianne worked as a cashier and office clerk for Schnucks grocery stores in and around the Wood River area, retiring after 33 years.

Besides her husband Jerry, she is survived by one daughter, Janya Sample and her husband Richard of Edwardsville; one son, Christopher Breitweiser and his wife Nichole of Jerseyville; one step-daughter, Jennifer Crawford and her husband James of Alton; one step-son, Joel Howard of St. Peters, MO; four grandchildren, Emma and Cole Breitweiser, Brody and Caroline Sample; one sister Kelly Martin and her husband Sam of Alton.

Besides her parents, Dianne was preceded in death by a sister, Kay Boyer.

Dianne attended Calvary Baptist Church of Alton in her youth and was baptized by Rev. Todd Taylor.

She was very proud that her two children were members of the Colonial Fife and Drum Corp of Alton.

A celebration of Dianne's life will begin at 9:00 a.m. Monday, February 19, 2018, until service time of 11:00 a.m. at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.

Rev. Sam Martin will officiate.

Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

Memorials may be given to Hope Animal Rescue.
