Sarah Rose Zangori, 95, passed away at 5:40 p.m., Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Riverside Rehab and Health Care in Alton.

She was born on April 6, 1925 in Alton.  Sarah was a daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Annarino) Ventimiglia.

Sarah and Sam Zangori were married on September 8, 1946 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Wood River.  Sam passed away August 17, 2009.

Before she married and became a homemaker, Sarah worked on the assembly line at Owen's Glass Works in Alton.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton and Daughters of Isabella.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Ann and Michael Kelly of East Alton, Josie Tardino of Alton & Mike Castelli; one son, Michael J. and Diane Zangori of Wood River; seven grandchildren, Christine Elledge of Cottage Hills, Steven and Lori Kelly of Alton, Timothy and Shaunna Tardino of Collinsville, Michael Zangori of Wood River, Patrick and Cassy Kelly of Wood River, Sam Zangori and Elizabeth Zangori of Wood River, Michelle and Chauncey Mayfield of Alton; thirteen great-grandchildren Michael Elledge, Brandon Kelly, Jacquline Zangori, Sarah Elledge, Abbigail Zangori, Zaccheri Zangori Mallory Kelly, Lukus Zangori, Isabella Tardino, Chase Kelly, Claire Wasser, Vance Wasser, Lucy Tardino; two brothers, Walter J. and Sandy Ventimiglia of Wood River, Andrew and Joyce Ventimiglia of Wood River; many nieces and nephews.

Besides Sam and her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by a son-in-law; Tony Tardino; grandson-in-law, Rick Elledge; her sister Concetta Campell; four brothers, infant Onofio, Anthony, Leo and Frank Ventimiglia .

A celebration of Sarah's life will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton where Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Father Paul Nguyen officiating.

Burial will be at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Alton.

Memorials may be given to St. Mary Catholic Church.
