Alton,
Sharon Kay Hook, 69 passed away at 11:10 a.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.
Born November 8, 1945 in Alton, she was the only child of the late T. Ernest "Ernie" and Helen "Rita" (Hunter) Samuelson.
Sharon married M. Wayne Sebastian, he does not survive. Later she married Eugene S. Hook on August 3, 1976 in Jerseyville. Eugene passed away November 5, 2014.
A Registered Nurse, Sharon worked for the Alton State Hospital for several years retiring in 2002. She was currently employed as a foster grandparent for the East Elementary Grade School in Alton.
Surviving are 3 daughters and a son-in-law, Melissa Hook of Alton, Candace Baremore of Rosewood Heights, Nanette (Sebastian) and Joseph Markovitch of East Alton; one son, Terence Hook of Alton; six grandchildren, Brianna Hook, Calvin Markovitch, Dylan Hook, Bailey, Dakota and Dalton Baremore; one aunt and uncle, Laverne and Walter "Bud" Neumann of Bethalto.
Sharon was also preceded in death by a son, Mika L. Sebastian.
Sharon was a life member of the Alton VFW post 1308.
Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 2015 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.
A celebration of Sharon's life will follow the visitation at 6:30 p.m..
A private burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
Memorials may be given to the Senior Services Plus in Alton.
