Tracy Lee Knight, 68 of East Alton, passed away unexpected at 7:47 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at his residence.

Tracy was born on July 22, 1957 in Olive Branch, IL. He was the son of Charles Knight who passed away when Tracy was young boy. His mother Leila (Goskie) Knight Nievelt then married his step father Harry Nievelt. They do not survive.

Tracy started working as a young man in drywall. As an adult he continued and became an independent contractor in drywall construction. He retired in 2009.

Survivors include one daughter, Stacy Beck and Chris of Pittsfield; three sons, Adam Charles Knight and Tracy of Jarrell, TX, Zachary David Knight of Columbus, OH, Benjamin Michael Knight of Godfrey; two grandchildren, Avery Grace Knight and Wesley Michael Knight, both at home; one sister, Charlene Worthen of Shipman; one brother, Brad Knight and Cindy of Hartford.

Besides his parents and step-father, Tracy was preceded in death by one son, Tracy Chappell; one sister, Delores Dailey; one brother, Mike Knight.

Tracy was a US Navy veteran who proudly served his country.

A life celebration for Tracy will begin at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday until 11:00 a.m. on February 3, 2026 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.

Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stephen Gray officiating.

Burial will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

St. Louis Navy Reserves will perform Military Honors.

Tracy will be sadly missed by family and friends.
