Virginia A. Calcara, 92, passed away at 11:15 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton.

Virginia was born November 13, 1924 in Wood River. She was a daughter of the late Jasper and Elizabeth (Greco) Calcara.

Virginia worked as a Clerk of the Illinois State Police for 35 years and retired in 1993.

Surviving are one sister, Jacqueline Lonny of East Alton; one brother, Phillip Calcaro of Las Vegas, Nevada; two niece and their husbands, Beth and David Bendele of Shiloh, Katherine and Trevor Grijava of Las Vegas, Nevada; one nephew, Steven Calcara of Las Vegas, Nevada.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Frances.

Committal Services will be private at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Virginia will be sadly missed by family and friends
