Virginia Wadsworth, 100, died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday, March 11, 2012, at Bethalto Care Center. She was born May 6, 1911, in Edwardsville, daughter of Raymond and Lena (Jones) Moore. She married Francis Wadsworth April 4, 1936, in Edwardsville. She was a homemaker. Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, Meredith and Jessie Wadsworth of East Alton, son-in-law Ed Hill of Alton; two grandchildren, William Wadsworth of Hawaii and James and Kathy Wadsworth of St. Louis; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Wadsworth of Hawaii and Tyler Wadsworth of Hawaii; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rita Hill; a sister, Edna Davis; a brother, Edward Moore; and a niece, Helen Fienton. She was a member of 1st Christian Church of Wood River. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10 a.m. services Wednesday, March 14, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River. Assistant pastor Bob Tracey will officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to 1st Christian Church of Wood River.
