Wanda Pauline Brennan, 88, went home to be with her Savior, at 7:25 a.m., Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center of Alton.
Wanda was born on August 27, 1928 at the home of her parents in Roxana. She was a daughter of the late Lewis and Harriet Irene (Ruyle) Arnold.
She and Thomas Joseph Brennan were married on Wanda's birthday, August 27, 1950 in Roxana.
After graduating high school she attended the Business College of Alton and received her business degree. Wanda then acquired a position as Accountant/bookkeeper for the Western Company "Olin Corporation" in East Alton working until she and Tom started a family. Now she had the most important job of all as a mother and homemaker. In 1966 Wanda began working as a cashier and cook for the Roxana School District, retiring after 25 years.
Surviving are three children; daughter Karen C. and Mike Wallace of Eagle Mountain, UT; two sons, Michael Thomas and Beth Brennan of Marana, AZ, Leslie Dale Brennan of Ramona CA; seven grandchildren, Chris Brennan of CO, Sara Curtis of AZ, Kevin Brennan of CA, Philip Brennan of CA, Missy Wallace of IL, Michael Wallace II of IL, Matthew Wallace of UT; ten great-grandchildren; two sisters, Ann Peterson of Red Bluff, CA, Judy and Rex Walburn of Yuma, AZ.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and David Arnold.
Wanda was a long time member at both the First Presbyterian Church in Roxana and the First United Methodist Church in Wood River.
A celebration of Wanda's life will begin at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2017 at the First United Methodist Church in Wood River with Pastor David Rose officiating.
Burial will take place at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be given to that of one's choice.
