COTTAGE HILLS Wesley Spurgeon, 55, died at 12:50 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013, at his residence. Born on Sept. 10, 1957, in Sidell, Ill., the son of William R. Fulk of Camargo, Ill., and the late Mary E. (Greninger) Fulk. He married Mary H. Bevfoden on June 16, 1978, in Forest Homes. She survives. Wesley was self-employed in scrap metal and he dearly loved to fish and work on cars. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Edward Wood of Cottage Hills; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Pauletta Spurgeon of Cottage Hills, and Ryan and Angela Spurgeon of Alton; 12 grandchildren, Michael, Gavin, Gage, Lola, Jaylynn, William, Jr., Allison, Jackson, Lillianne, Brandon and Edward; three sisters, Teresa and Jim Balmer of Villa Grove, Rose and Dave Northway of Beacher City, and Karen and Frank Maxwell of Villa Grove; four brothers, Jim Fulk of Charleston, Kenny and Terri Fulk of Camargo, Larry and Terrie Fulk of Mcleansboro, and Dewayne and Kari Purmann of Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Fulk and Kathy Day; and three brothers, Andy and Bill Fulk, and Kevin Kenne. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River, where services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013, with Chaplin Randy Butler to officiate.
