William "Billy" Mason, 55, formerly of Alton, passed away at 9:29 p.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at his residence due to heart complications.
He was born on January 10, 1961 in Alton. Billy was a son of the late Robert Eugene Mason and Pasty (Fairless) Mason of Alton.
Billy was a Navy Veteran serving for 4 years. He worked for Hub Luehr's Amusements for 10 years and Slayer Amusements for 4 years before opening his own Amusement Business.
His hobby's, were playing guitar in his own band for local venues, spending time with family and friends, and messing with computer games and programming.
Billy was the first patient for an experimental metal heart valve replacement at Barnes Hospital.
Besides his mother, Billy is survived by three brothers , Jeffrey Mason, Michael Mason, Damon Mason and Kimberly all of Alton; two sisters, Michelle Mason, Camilla Mason and Scott; eight nieces and nephews , Tiffany and Dustin, Jeremy, Bradley, Panzy, Katlin and Matt, Kory, Kevin Michael, Damon, Jr.; seven great grand nieces and nephews- Mathew, Tamara, Ariana, Destiny, Mathew B, Eli, and Gabriella who's on the way.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Mason and youngest brother Kevin Wayne Mason.
He will be sadly missed and loved by all that knew him.
A Memorial Celebration of Billy's life will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2016 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River.
Burial will be Private at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the St .Louis Children's Hospital.
