ZELMA BROWN
EAST ALTON — Zelma Brown, 82, passed away at 5 a.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her residence.
Born August 30, 1933, in Bluffs, Illinois, she was a daughter of Willie and Pearl (Spencer) Jones.
Zelma married Robert H. Brown. He died Nov. 5, 1995. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah and Geno Ballard of East Alton and Cindy and Jack Holman of Bethalto; two grandchildren, Jason Holman and Deanna Busby, four great-grandchildren : KaJavion, Aaron, Renji and Tessa; one sister, Mardell Faw of Louisiana, one brother and sister-in-law, Herman and Shirley Jones of Jacksonville.
Besides her husband and parents, Zelma was preceeded in death by one daughter, Victoria Marie Brown; one sister, Ruth Dewitt; three brothers, Clifford, Ralph and Virgil Jones.
She was a member of Enjoy Church of Alton.
Service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 at Gray Funeral Home in Wood River with the visitation following from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Bluffs.
Memorials may be given to the family.
